Our
second arrival at the farm born at 12.30 am by our KWPN Ster
Stallion "Amoureux" out of our beautiful KWPN Ster
mare "Abisag" (San Remo x Jacardo x Actueel) Galaxie
is an exquisite dark bay filly with four white socks, star
stripe and snip. A very classy, elegant, long legged filly
with the striking good looks of her parents, destined for
a career in the dressage arena.
Galaxie was Inhand Champion and Supreme Champion Reserve
Performance/Sport/Hunter Braco Show 2011.
The bloodlines:
Her sire "Amoureux" has consistently won young
horse qualifiers with scores of 78-80% having qualified for
Badmington Young Dressage Horse Of The Future, Sheerwater
Potential International Dressage Horse, the Sheetwater British
National Young Dressage Horse both as a five and six year
old under International Grand Prix Dressage Rider Michel Assouline,
with a Double win at Sheepgate Premiere League in the Hickstead
Young Horse Qualifier and Medium SOQ75 and a finalist in the
Sheerwater 6YO Championship. The duo also qualified for the
Regional Championships placing ninth in the most difficult
of the medium tests M75 with just a years training under saddle
and with very little competition experience.
Saros Van T'Gestelhof
Sired by the Belgian approved dual purpose stallion Saros
Van 'T Gestelhof, a son of G Ramiro Z out of a Pik Koenig
x Wendekries mare, Saros sired the Belgium champion foal 2003
and currently has an exterior index of 188 earning him elite
status at the young age of seven. He had obtained over 50
victories from the age of 4 – 7 with 17 wins at Prix
st Georges, placing 4th at the World Championships
in Verden in the six year old class. Other wins include the
Belgian 4, 5 and six year old Dressage Champion title. Saros'
progeny are equally as talented in jumping as they are in
dressage. Saros's sire is the famous G Ramiro Z who competed
in classes of 2.20m and perhaps most renown as sire of the
famous Olympic gold medallist Ratina Z out of the famous Holstein
mare Heureka Z. This combination of German bloodlines has
consistently proven to be a winning combination.
Erle (Pik Koenig x Wendkreis)
Saros's dam, "Erle", carries "elite"
status, claiming the National Champion mare titles in 1983
1984 & 1985 and mother to a number of dressage horses,
"Le Primo" who won several victories ZII LRV with
Louis Van Gestel and the Bronze medal Belgian Championship
with Leen Cools. "Pancho" - Belgian vice champion
4 year old ridden by Els Michiels, Bronze medal Swiss championship,
Rianta, with several victories Z2 LRV with Wilfried Mondelaers
& "Ultra", an elite mare. Erle also proved herself
in competition with successful results up to S level.
Pik Koenig /Pik As / Wendekreis
Erle's sire Pik Koenig a top hereditary transmitter of show-jumpers,
some of whose progeny managed to jump into the higher spheres
of dressage, sired 19 Approved sons including Pik Bube I II
& III, 242 main studbook mares, 22 State Premium mares
with a sports index overall of 129, dressage 126, jumping
131. Pik Konigs' Thoroughbred sire "Pik As" (1949)
was most renown for his ability as a sire passing on his beautiful
movement and great jumping ability. He Stood at Celle 1953-1969
a genetic transmitter with a lot of potential he sired world
class showjumpers & 4 approved sons, in 1981 ranked #13
as German sire of competition horses. Erle's dam sire "Wendekreis"
adds once again the combination of both jumping and dressage
genes to an already illustrious pedigree.
Krack C x Flemmingh
Krack C has no less than nine licensed sons with the KWPN
studbook, two in Germany and one with the NRPS. Krack C is
thought by many to be maybe the best dressage horse progenitor
in Europe. He is the Ambassador of both The Netherlands Dressage
Sport and The Netherlands Dressage Horse Breeding. Alongside
his results in breeding he has a great amount of sporting
success himself ridden by Anky van Grunsven. Known for his
flamboyant moving mechanism and his ridability, Krack C impressed
many KWPN breeders and became their main choice, placing him
in the top ten of most used breeding stallions.
Flemmingh
Born in 1987 in Germany. Bred by H.C. Albertsen from Behrendorf,
Germany, the bay stallion was by the Holsteiner Lacapo out
of Texas (Carneval x Lorenz). As a 3-year old he went to Holland
for the licensing and became one of the best performers at
the 1990 KWPN Stallion Performance Test, especially excelling
in show jumping. Flemmingh became a top producer of successful
international sport horses. Alongside Anky van Grunsven's
Grand Prix horse Krack C, Edward Gal's former medal winning
horse Lingh and the current Pan American gold medallist Regent
(under American Christopher Hickey) were sired by Flemmingh.
San Remo
Her sire, the Hanoverian stallion San Remo was licensed in
Verden, Germany, in 2001 by the Hanoverian studbook and gained
premium status. He was auctioned for DM145.000 and approved
by the KWPN in 2002. He commenced his dressage career with
Edward Gal. In 2003, as a 4-yr-old in the finals of the PAVO
Cup, he finished in fifth place. San Remo was much admired
for the suppleness and harmony of his paces and his expressive
presence in the arena which also earned him his second place
at the PAVO Cup Championships in 2004 earning his place at
Verden.
Wolkentanz I
In 1993 San remo's sire, Wolkentanz I, was Siegerhengst (Champion
Stallion) of the Hanoverian Verband completing a very good
Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf with a score of 140.53 points
for the dressage elements. Wolkentanz I is one of the top
progenitors in Hanover and amongst many others he sired the
World Champion of the Young Horses, "Wakajama" of
Holga Finke.
Weltmeyer
San Remo's paternal grand sire, Weltmeyer, was champion of
his licensing in Verden. The judging committee gave him the
top score of 10 for his trot, his canter stride was great,
earning a score of 9.5, the walk was ground-covering and earned
an 8.0. In addition, he received a 9.5 for conformation and
overall impression. Weltmeyer went on to win his performance
test at Adelheidsdorf with a dressage score of 143.94, but
just as impressively he gained a jumping score of 141.44.
Weltmeyer comes from the most successful dressage families
in the world, the ‘W’ line that begins with Woermann
who was the sire of "World Cup" (I to IIII) and
Wenzel I and II. In turn, World Cup is the sire of not only
Weltmeyer but also Walt Disney and Warkant. His dam, the Head
Stud Book Premium mare "Anka" was a daughter of
the part bred Trakehner Absatz which we also find in the dam
line of Laurie I and II.
Volturno
San Remo's grand sire, Volturno, is a son of the legendary
thoroughbred Vollkorn xx. His Oldenburg son, Volturno, (out
of a mare by the Thoroughbred, Manolette) was Champion of
his licensing and went on to be a member of the German Silver
Medal winning Eventing Team at the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Games.
Volturno won over 20 international events before retiring
to Stud where he produced a number of licensed sons, including
Voltur, Voltaire, Volturnus and Valeur.
Her dam "Nanda", is a Ster mare by "Jacardo"
(Zeolite x G Ramiro Z), Jacardo was placed in the top ten
of the PAVO Cup (Netherlands' prestigious Dutch Young Horse
Championships) as a four and five year old out of 350 horses
in the division. He went on to win the Stallion Competition
Class M two years in a row in 1996 and 1997 and competed successfully
at Grand Prix in 2004 with average scores of 65%, consistently
scoring 8's on his piaffe, passage and tempi changes. His
sire, Elcaro, approved by the KWPN in 1989, obtained good
scores as a potential dressage horse but also showing aptitude
as a potential jumper, with 8.5 for his trot and a 9 for his
temperament and stable manners.
Maternal Damline
Abisag's breeder Gerardus Schievink has kindly provided us
with a little more insight into her family line. Her Grand
Dam Gracia (Aktueel x Makelaar) was awarded Prestatie status
having produced a good number of successful dressage horses
competing at Z level and above in dressage, including the
International Dressage horses Sadrach (Stefano) by Gribaldi
who competes at Grand Prix and the Prix St Georges Dressage
gelding "Titus" by Welt Hit II ridden by Rhonda
Dretel in the USA. Sadrach's younger full brother Zabad is
currently competing at Z Level dressage. Others include the
Ster mare Marje by Havidoff and Obed full sister to Abisag's
Dam, Nanda.
Jacardo
Jacardo Placed in Top Ten of the Pavo Cup as a 4 and 5 year
old, 1st place in the NHS/KWPN Stallion Competition Class
M in 1996 and 1997. He competed successfully at Z2 +13 in
dressage prior to export to North America in 2001. Short listed
for the Canadian Dressage Team.. Reserve champion in the FEI
division and went on to compete at Intermediaire 1. He has
sired a good number of advanced dressage horses with trainable
temperaments.
